Cardinals aquire Mark DeRosa

Well it finally happened. The deal Cardinal Nation was waiting for. The Cards got the versatile Mark DeRosa- and for a lot cheaper than we thought. I know a lot of people won't be to happy that we gave up Chris Perez but in my opinion Jason Motte is a better option for the Redbirds right now. Plus, Ryan Franklin is doing pretty darn good at the end of games right now because he knows that the job is his. But, I digress.
The move gives the Cardinals a good option for 3rd and gives them a strong right-handed bat. It also helps since Khalil Green suffering some anxiety setbacks. I know he went 0-4 at the plate but he made a great catch out there in right that took a double away from Twins 1st baseman Justin Morneau so DeRosa has already made an impact with his new team. And former teammates have raved about what a good person and player DeRosa is so hopefully he can help some of the younger kids, like Colby Rasmus, see what a good influence can do to a team. Plus, players on the Cubs hate it, so that automatically bumps it to a great deal for the Cardinals.

I want to send my condolences to the family of Father Jim Krings he was a priest at my parish for about 5 years and passed away Saturday morning after a long fight with cancer.

I'm going to be leaving for Dallas on Friday so next week's post might be late but there will be something up next week. Possibly about the Ranger's/Ray's game on Sunday, July 5th. (I'll be at that game).
